Our Mission is to study and promote the understanding of conflict processes and intervention from the transformative framework.
We seek to grow the acceptance and adoption of the model by serving transformative practitioners, those interested in the transformative model, and the broader field – anywhere in the world, especially where we have local champions supporting the work.
We emphasize our unique strengths including a model rooted in theory with clear and articulated values that drives our practice across a variety of arenas, and our champions – the people who believe in this work and give their time and talents to supporting the mission of the ISCT.
We are sustained by fees for our services, membership fees, product sales, event fees, grants, and donations.
ISCT Board, Fellows, Hubs, Management Team and Staff
The ISCT Board of Directors
ISCT Board members provide oversight and guidance on mission and objectives, ensure that the mission of the organization is honored, and that the organization’s resources are used wisely in support of that purpose. Our Board must have between 8-14 people including 4-7 fellows. Board members hold 3 year staggered terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms. Board members are nominated by the ISCT Nominating Committee, a committee made up of members and fellows.
Fellows are individuals who are committed to the transformative approach of practice, who share responsibility for its growth, development, and sustenance. Fellows exist to protect the integrity of the transformative approach and support ethical practice that is aligned to the approach. Hubs are a gathering of Transformative practitioners, trainers, scholars, organizations, training centers and affiliates who share a common mother tongue (other than English), or who are located in a specific country/region, and who are willing to organize themselves and provide some services to their members, and connect with the ISCT. Like all of the ISCT, Hubs support inclusivity and connection for both Language and Culture. Hubs and the ISCT are mutually supportive. Both keep the other informed about their work and effort. Our operations are led by our three person Management Team and by two part-time staff, along with contract trainers and over 50 volunteers. The Management Team implements the Board’s policies and plans, oversees the working groups and projects, and hires staff.
